Friday 22nd May 2009

dis⋅co⋅sis [dis-koh-sis]
–noun, plural -ses [-seez]
- 1. A severe mental state characterised by symptoms such as spontaneous and prolonged grooving, visions of swirling lights, hearing sweet soulful live vocals and an inability to leave a dance floor: always only brought on specifically by the very best in vocal, soulful, funky house music.
- 2. A specific form of musical taste that induces a propensity for continuous and unabated grooving with abandon.
If the above symptoms sound familiar, fear no longer – we’ve got the music, the singers, the groove and crowd to dance you in to Discosis. The prognosis is Discosis at Oxford Art Factory on Friday 22nd May and we have doctors standing by (decks), ready to assist.
With Jack McCord (Hed Kandi), Beth Yen (Hed Kandi), Doug James (Mixed Business) and the Sydney newcomer (but London old-timer) Sumobrown , let's face it - it's just not going to
get any better than this. With a line-up this insane you’ll be in a strait jacket faster than you can say “the disco made me do it”.
Still not enough eh? Alright...to keep you in an even more frenzied state of discosis, the soulful vocals of Kristen Pearson and the Krush [Adamo and Rosemarie] will have you in a discotic frenzy from the moment they put a mic to their lips. PLUS, hot off the press - Sumobrown will be performing a live PA of their new single "Maybe Tonight' featuring Madam Parker of Australian Idol fame - their first live performance and an A.D.D. exclusive. Enough to keep you in the asylum and rocking rhythmically all over the dance-floor till it’s time for day release.
Welcome back to Attention Deficit Disco.
