SumoBrown

SumoBrown

SUMOBROWN was formed in the summer of 2006 - a collaboration between Steven Halliday and Errol Brown.  Steven Halliday as one half of AGENT SUMO scored a number of hits including 24 Hours, Sunflowers and Why, all of which featured as Pete Tong’s Essential Tunes of the Week.  Steven is currently working on fresh and interesting TV and music projects in the UK, whilst engineering and producing for some of London's finest up and coming talent.

Errol Brown started off DJing and promoting for Club Class in Canterbury, Kent in 1998. After moving to London in 2002, Errol launched Forbidden Fruits, which became a hugely successful fortnightly event at Jam in Shoreditch.

Within two years, Errol was playing as a resident for ‘Hot and Spicy’ and ‘Shiva’, playing alongside the likes of Seamus Haji, Robert Owens, Herd & Fitz, Norman Jay, Grant Nelson, Nick Bridges to name a few, in top UK clubs such as The Ministry of Sound, Pacha, Hidden, Canvas, Turnmills and Herbal.

SUMOBROWN are currently working hard in the studio to back up the release of their new track, "Maybe Tonight", featuring the vocal talents of Madam Parker, of Australian Idol fame, which is now available for licence in Australia.

Attention Deficit Disco are keen to share the talents of SUMOBROWN, and learn exactly what soulful house can be!

JAMES HILLARD & JIM STANTON: HORSE MEAT DISCO

GI_Jode

Since its humble beginnings over 5 years ago Horse Meat Disco has become an institution on both sides of the sexual divide due in large part to its dedication and appreciation to Disco music in all its forms. The brainchild of James Hillard and Jim Stanton via the inspiration of New York nightlife legend Adam Goldstone (RIP) the idea was to create an alternative party that harped back to the halcyon days of parties like The Loft and The Gallery in New York whilst at the same time adapting it for a London crowd and always looking to the future. This formula proved successful from the start and led the club to take up its residency every Sunday in the most fantastic South London boozer; Eagle London.

Jim and James both DJs in their own right enlisted the help of 2 of London's hardest working DJs to help create the sound that would take HMD from its beginnings in a china town basement to the recognition it now holds. Those DJs being Severino hailing from Mantova in Italy and Filthy Luka (aka Luke Howard) resident of Queer Nation and life long disco fanatic. These 4 DJs with their knowledge of music and what makes a dance floor move proved a force to be reckoned with and the parties soon became the talk of the town attracting a discerning mix of old time disco heads, club kids, bears, naturists and something new in gay clubs; a space where disco fans of a heterosexual persuasion could live out their fantasy of going to a gay disco club without feeling totally out of place. The club's ethos has always been to provide a queer space for everyone after all the best parties have always been the ones where the crowd comes from all walks of life.

Attention Deficit Disco are proud to have James and Jim bring their Horse Meat to our Disco on Friday 17th July. Don't miss it!

BETH YEN

Beth Yen is the most talked about new DJ to hit the Australian club scene in 2008 - Her energy and excitement taking dance-floors to a different place where the music and dancing never stops, her passion for music and irresistible energy behind the decks infecting dance-floors like never before.

With a cheeky smile and an instinctive sense for reading the crowd, Beth’s style produces unique fusions of deep, jackin’, tech house with soul, latin, funk flavours and a fresh touch that keeps people moving, anytime day or night.

Yen’s love of house music began when she hit the clubs in her native UK to dance the nights away. As her love of house music and passion for performing broadened, so did her horizons. Travelling the world, Beth found the Land of Oz and decided to develop her promising career into something more. With decks in one arm and a fresh stack of vinyl in the other, in just one year Beth Yen has become an established force on the Sydney scene.
